There are many ways that cellulite can be removed from one’s body. Basically, this problem has caused so many disturbances for a lot of people especially women who are just aching to have the greatest body figures. Since it can cause physical dislike, this often brings about emotional stress as well as many other things.
Cellulite – What Is It?
Cellulite is the term used for the dimply skin which is commonly seen on buttocks, thighs, legs, the stomach and hips. This is caused by layers of fat that are sandwiched underneath the skin on these areas. A lot of women have cellulite which is sad because women are more concerned about their physical looks compared to men.
Both men and women have fat underneath their skin, and it is there because they can prevent hypothermia from happening. There are also a lot of internal injuries that are prevented because of these layers of fat in your skin. Yet the female skin is different when compared to the male skin this is why it is more prone to cellulite. The male skin is a lot thicker and their connective tissues are also constructed differently.
As one ages, the body isn’t able to effectively distribute and manage its fat deposits. The effect is stored fat which could harden as the skin becomes less tight. And though cellulite can’t damage the body, it has caught the attention of both cosmetic and fashion industries as it makes one appear flabby and, yes, ugly.
The 5 Phases of Cellulite Formation
It is wrong to think that cellulite is mere cellulite just because the medical field dismisses this as a non-medical condition. In fact, many medical practitioners consider cellulite to be a skin problem, thus, this is just a cosmetic malady more than an illness. But the good thing is, since people are now becoming more aware of beauty and cosmetics, cellulite is now being looked into by recognized experts. There are now hordes of articles regarding cellulite in many medical literatures. These literatures have now clearly defined the different phases of cellulite development –
- The first phase is when there is an impairment or damage on the blood microcirculation, venous flow on your skin’s subcutaneous layer, and lymphatic waste elimination. When you have any of these problems, it is highly likely that the surrounding tissues will weaken, hence, they’ll become more prone to cellulite development.
This condition worsens when fluids and blood are trapped on the area where problematic drainage is seen. When this happens, the tissues might start to become fibrous.
- The second phase is when the poor circulation continues and the capillaries and veins become damaged. It is probable that blood will even leak out from these damaged veins and onto the nearby tissues. The consequence to this is pressure on the surrounding tissues as the circulation is exacerbated. Slight bruising, discoloration and tenderness could start to show up at this stage.
- The third phase is when the dimples begin to appear on the skin. With lymphatic drainage impaired, the fat tissues in the surrounding area start to swell and press on the skin.
- The fourth phase is when the fibrous septae (brought about by constricted circulation and drainage issues) will begin to thicken and then form toughened fibers. Also, the cells that have been deprived of oxygen and nutrients will merge with the fibers, thus, making the fibers thicker and tougher. It is during this stage that fat already gets stored in between the fibers. Lumps become visible at this point and you’ll also feel some cold areas on your skin.
- The fifth phase is the continuance of fibrous septae growth as poor blood circulation continues to put pressure on the area. With more and more fat cells being stored in those fibers, it will get harder to exercise and diet away these thick fibers. When you’re at the last phase, steatomes have already formed, meaning, under your skin is now a structure that is much like a honeycomb. With so many trapped fat cells and stagnant fluids, this is the time when cottage cheese formations start to show on your skin.
Getting Rid of Cellulites
- There is a natural way to get rid of cellulite and many people choose to go down this path more than any other method available. Controlling your eating habits is a good way to begin this quest. It takes time to do so more so if you enjoy eating a lot. Yet the more foods that you eat which don’t have any substantial nutritional content, the higher your risks are in becoming obese. And as you already know, being obese means greater chances of cellulite formation.
Most fruits are good for your diet. Pears and apples, for instance, are great for cellulite treatment. These are the gentlest diuretics and laxatives and they can greatly help in eliminating the toxins in your body as well as any water that’s been retained. These fruits also contain pectin, a water soluble fiber that can help clean your digestive system and lower your blood cholesterol.
Apples and pears also contain potassium which is vital in keeping body fluids at healthy levels, hence, the appearance of cellulite is greatly reduced.
Berries are also known as super foods, hence, they are great in treating any kind of illness. Though cellulite isn’t a disease, still, berries are one of the greatest anti cellulite foods. Name all the berries that you know and they’re great in fighting off cellulite – raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, Acai berries, and Goji berry.
Lentil, chickpeas and beans are foods that have high fiber content so they can also help you get rid of cellulite. These foods help in balancing digestive bacteria and they’re also a great source of protein.
- There are many creams, lotions and even pills that can make cellulite go away. These can be combined with special diets, exercises and even a change in lifestyle so that cellulite can be gotten rid of for good.
- Probably the best way to reduce fat storage is to make your muscle work hard so that they would need more energy. A lot of people think that bodybuilding is the key to leaner muscles. But just take a look at the females who embrace bodybuilding and you will conclude that they don’t look too feminine anymore.
What you can do is to make your muscles need more energy than they usually do and the way to do this is through stamina training. Jogging is a great way to up your stamina. You also get to work with your buttocks and leg area which means you will appear leaner on this areas.
- There are also skin tightening and stretching exercises that you might want to get into. Begin by sitting down on the floor and stretching your legs out. Now try to touch your toes, sure, it’s not easy but it is an effective way to stretch the back of your thighs. For the side of your thigh, all you have to do is to stretch your leg out to the right and then to the left. Stretch them as far away from each other as you possibly can. Repeat three times and hold for ten seconds each time.
Just make sure that you won’t overextend in order to reach your toes. Just be patient as this could take time to achieve. Stretch only as far as you could go or there’ll be serious tearing of muscles. Just keep doing the exercises each day and you’ll soon get the hang of it.
Your Do Not Eat List
If you don’t want cellulite, then all you have to do is to eradicate these foods from your diet –
- Foods that have a high caloric content such as meat (especially red meat), dairy goods, processed foods like sausages, cream, butter and chocolate. The more of these foods that you consume, the likelier that you’ll have cellulite.
